**About the Role**

The Employee Mentor role will support a cohort of new staff in Transition to Work and Parent Pathways Service programs. The role will provide hands on mentoring, technical training, individual and small group coaching sessions, and support new employees to successfully complete their role specific induction plan. The role will support Line Managers to appropriately coach and mentor new employees, with a focus on the first three months of employment. This role will complement and reinforce formal training provided by the Learning and Development team. The key outcome of this role is to improve the retention of new employees.

The role is an opportunity for experienced and well performing staff who are seeking career progression and/or would like to develop their skills in coaching or mentoring. The role may suit a current Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager or an experienced Coach.

**This role is being offered full time ongoing and will be based at our Mile End site supporting our Transition to Work and Parent Pathway Programs across South Australia, Western Australia and Current South Wales.**

**About You**

To be successful in the role you will be able to:

- Provide high quality advice and mentoring on specific roles in Employment Service programs to new staff, working with up to 15 new staff for 8-12 weeks at a time.
- Support new employees to understand and complete their Induction Plan.
- Provide practical coaching to new employees on the steps to undertake specific work tasks.
- Sit in on appointments and other activities with the new worker to assist them with learning the role.
- Deliver small group sessions on different topics where possible.
- Provide feedback to Line Managers on employee progress. Escalate any additional training requests to Learning and Development.
- Sit in on probation meetings and provide feedback to the new employee with their Line Manager.
- Seek feedback from new employees to gauge their feedback on progress, support and level of comfort in their new role.
- Engage professionally and effectively with all other work groups at Workskil Australia.
- Be able to travel across multiple sites in a Region, State or Nationally.
- Ensure the delivery of the service and interactions with stakeholders are positive, professional, and in line with Workskil Australia Values, Code of Conduct, Deeds, Guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Integrated Management System and assist with continuous improvement activities.

You will also be required to:

- Hold a current driver’s licence and have a reliable vehicle;
- Have a minimum of a Certificate IV in Employment Services, Youth Work, Career Development or higher level of qualification; and
- Have at least two years experience in Employment Services.

**Remuneration**

A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
