About Us
For over 50 years, Vili’s has been serving South Australians their favourite pies, pastries and café classics. Our Production Kitchen preps the fresh ingredients and ready-to-go items you’ll find in convenience stores, corner delis and supermarkets.
We’re inviting expressions of interest from reliable Kitchen Hands, Sandwich Artists and Catering Assistants to join the Vili's Family.
Rosters
Our Kitchen Hands work on two shifts, where each group are dedicated to different key tasks. Our Production Kitchen work 5 shifts a week and 38 hours per week, with access to reasonable overtime to meet business demand.
Morning team (5:00am start)
- preparing ingredients for the afternoon team, and cooking gravies and other "wet foods"
Afternoon team (2:00pm start)
- assembling the wraps, baguettes, salad cups and other "grab and go" style items, ready for sale through both Vili's and customer retail cafes and outlets.
What you’ll do
Prep & QA (Morning): Portion and slice meats; check incoming/raw ingredients (freshness, quality, labelling); cook and batch wet dishes for bain-maries; label, date and stage for later shifts.
Assemble & Pack (Afternoon): Build wraps, baguettes and salad cups to spec; weigh/label/date-code; present products neatly and consistently for retail.
Food Safety & Hygiene (Both teams): Follow SOPs/HACCP, allergen controls, FIFO and temperature checks; clean-as-you-go and end-of-shift cleaning.
Teamwork & Pace (Both teams): Work to production plans and deadlines; communicate clearly with Team Leaders and FOH/Dispatch; rotate tasks to support the team.
About you
Experience in rapid-paced kitchens or food production (canteens, cafés, food trucks or manufacturing) is ideal
Comfortable with repetitive tasks and working in chilled environments
Attention to detail with recipes, portioning, labelling and presentation
Safety-first mindset (manual handling, knives, hygiene) and dependable timekeeping
Positive, team-oriented communicator who takes pride in consistent quality
Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to quality
