Permanent Full Time-36.25 hours per week $91,140.33 to $97,653.03 annually + 13% super RCC Officers’ Level 4 Operations Scheduling Officer – Network Operations Are you highly organised, calm under pressure, and passionate about planning and prioritisation in a fast‑paced environment? As a Operations Scheduling Officer – Network Operations with City Water, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous delivery of water and sewer services essential to the community. Supporting a network that delivers over 14 billion litres of safe drinking water annually to more than 73,000 properties, and collects wastewater via 1,217 km of sewer pipes, this role sits at the heart of essential service delivery. You’ll help ensure these services remain reliable, safe, and responsive – contributing to a system that consistently meets stringent Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and Environmental Regulations. This position is central to operations – responsible for triaging incoming requests, coordinating schedules, and optimising resources across both planned maintenance and reactive works. Working closely with supervisors and field teams, you will ensure customer requests are prioritised to meet industry standards and customer expectations, supporting service continuity across the Redlands community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Work Scheduling & Prioritisation – Plan and coordinate daily and forward work activities across operations, ensuring efficient scheduling of maintenance and reactive tasks
- Triage & Workflow Management – Act as a key point of contact for incoming service requests, assessing urgency, assigning appropriate asset information, and ensuring timely allocation
- Resource Planning – Collaborate with supervisors to understand crew availability and support the effective allocation of resources across competing priorities
- Stakeholder Liaison – Work closely with internal teams including Network Operations, Compliance, Reporting, and Waste to coordinate and progress work requests
- Data & Systems Management – Use Council’s Asset Management Systems and mapping tools to create, update, and manage work orders, ensuring data accuracy and visibility
- Reporting & Insights – Monitor outstanding work, analyse trends (such as demand peaks and location‑based activity), and provide insights to support operational decision‑making
- Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance scheduling efficiency, workflow processes, and service delivery outcomes Skills and experience:
- Experience in scheduling, workforce planning, or operations support within a fast‑paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of Asset Management software (e.g., Assetic or similar) and operational technologies
- Proven ability to prioritise, manage competing demands, and adapt quickly in a reactive environment
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to accurate data management
