About the Company: Dhakshin Gourmet Pty Ltd, a renowned dine-in and take away licensed restaurant offering authentic Indian cuisine, is currently seeking a qualified and passionate Chef to join our agile kitchen team. Located in the heart of Crowsnest, our restaurant operates six days a week, serving lunch and dinner from 12 noon to 10pm, with extended trading hours for functions and events. Alongside our dine-in and take away services, we take pride in providing catering services and hosting private functions on-site for up to 75 seated customers. Our commitment to delivering a cosmopolitan dining experience with excellent value sets us apart in the culinary world. Our menu showcases an array of authentic Indian dishes, including set menu options for private functions. Tasks & Responsibilities: As a Chef at Dhakshin Gourmet Pty Ltd, your key tasks will include:
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements including rosters to ensure the food preparation function is well staffed across a seven-day-trading-week;
- Tailor a relevant menu with management that best reflects the desired tastes and flavours of the customer base;
- Define how dishes should be prepared and presented along with management to ensure consistency in the food preparation process;
- Monitor the quality of all dishes across set shifts at all stages of preparation and presentation; ingredients;
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, including raw foods and receipt and check the freshness of delivered and stored foods and ingredients;
- Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure they meet the necessary standards;
- Demonstrate relevant cooking techniques and advise staff on menu dish cooking procedures;
- Prepare, cook, season, portion and garnish dishes from Dhakshin Gourmet menu;
- Instruct and supervise subordinate staff in preparing, cooking, seasoning, portioning, garnishing dishes from Dhakshin Gourmet menu;
- Selecting, training, supervising and performance managing subordinate staff;
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure staff follow the required hygiene standards and regulations. Requirements: The ideal candidate will hold relevant degree qualification in related fields and 1-3 years prior experience as a Chef.
