**Your new career**: This is an exciting opportunity for a student planner to gain experience in our Statutory Planning Team.

**What you will bring to the role**: We are currently looking for a student planner with a drive to actively learn and participate in the statutory planning system at the Surf Coast Shire.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- an ability to work well within a team environment
- good communication skills.

**Key selection criteria** **Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements**:

- Currently enrolled and studying a tertiary qualification in planning, or related discipline (Note
- this is an undergraduate position for currently enrolled students
- Ability to learn new processes and procedures of a local government planning department
- Ability to work as an effective team member and contribute to a positive team culture
- Ability to provide a customer service focus to the work.
- A current Victorian drivers licence
- A current Working With Children Check
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
