Exercise Design Specialist (Townsville)

Job Details The Exercise Design Specialist, within the combined Cubic and Australian Defence Force (ADF) team, will be responsible for the development, production, and execution of demanding and first‐rate training activities delivered by the Combat Training Centre (CTC) staff. These positions will take the lead on design of Higher Command training and orders delivery to training units, establishing and delivering detailed and comprehensive products and direction as part of a highly professional HICON team that can interact with training audiences in all required domains. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Supporting the planning, management and execution of military exercises in close coordination with the Combat Training Centre (CTC) uniformed staff. Active engagement in exercise development and planning conferences and the provision and development of relevant product to support exercise design. The conduct of exercise briefings and planning activities to ADF and Cubic staff in support of exercise design. Supporting the establishment and execution of collective training exercises, to include regular field activities in a HICON role. Management of key staff within a HICON environment to support training delivery in line with ADF leadership's intent. General Duties and Responsibilities Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System. Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Workplace policies and procedures. Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations. Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures. Other duties as requested. Skills / Experience / Knowledge 15 years military experience, attaining MAJ‐LTCOL rank at minimum. Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite of applications. Personal Qualities Ability to work as part of a team and to manage a team to ensure high performance. Excellent verbal communication skills. Unparalleled negotiation skills. High levels of customer support and service delivery. Excellent time management, organisational and project management skills. Self‐motivated. Have the flexibility to travel when required as this role will require periods of travel and extended hours.
