Construction Manager (Townsville)

About The Role CMC has been engaged to deliver the reconstruction works for the Mt Spec Road, located just north of Townsville. As the Construction Manager, you’ll work directly under the Project Manager and be accountable for coordinating and managing site construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program, budget, quality, stakeholder and contractual requirements. This role bridges the gap between project management and engineering leadership, providing strong construction direction to Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers and subcontractors. Responsibilities
- Ensure construction methodology, sequencing, productivity and workforce coordination are aligned to project objectives.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and operational discipline.
- Provide construction direction and guidance across all on‑site personnel.
- Act as a liaison between project management and engineering leadership. About You Since graduating you’ve spent time in the field delivering projects following the progressive engineer’s pathway from Site Engineer to Project Engineer to now Senior Project Engineer. You’ve built a successful career to date within the Civil Infrastructure sector and it’s now time to take the next step forward with your career. Essential Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in delivering large and complex projects within the civil infrastructure sector, with experience in Land Slips and Slope Stabilisation highly regarded.
- Strong technical, commercial and contractual acumen.
- Deep understanding of WHS, environmental and quality compliance.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills. Desirable
- RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent accreditation.
- Business or leadership qualifications.
- Experience with cooperative contracts such as ECI, D&C; or Alliances.
- Familiarity with ISO‑certified systems, financial management tools and project controls platforms.
