Fixed‑Term Part‑Time Prospect (until October 2027 – 56 hours per fortnight) Varied shifts across a rotating roster – Monday to Saturday. Located at Traralgon Donor Centre and Mobile Donor Unit, Victoria (on‑site). Salary starting from $41.83 per hour plus penalties, super, salary packaging and more. As a Registered Nurse, you will bring excellent customer‑facing skills and passion to deliver an exceptional service, while working together to ensure Australia’s supply of blood products. A typical day at the centre
- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
- Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collection equipment
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
- Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
- Monitor donors post‑donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation Regular regional travel is a key requirement of this role, with travel across Victoria’s east—including Sale, Warragul, Leongatha, Bairnsdale, Wonthaggi, Rosebud and Benalla. Travel typically occurs 1–2 weeks per month and can include overnight stays of up to 3 nights during the week (Tuesday – Friday). Qualifications and requirements
- Occasionally lift between 9–22.7 kg
- Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
- Hold a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and a current AHPRA registration
- Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Saturday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
