Security Officer - Gatehouse (Latrobe City)

We are seeking a Casual Gatehouse Security Officer (Level 3) to support operations in a high-security environment, providing frontline access control, monitoring, and site protection services. About the Role As a Gatehouse Security Officer, you will be responsible for managing site access and supporting the security integrity of a critical infrastructure facility. You will act as the first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and deliveries, ensuring all access requirements are met and site procedures are followed. Key Responsibilities
- Manage vehicle movement, access control, and visitor/contractor passes
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and building management systems
- Respond to security, fire, and WHS-related alarms and incidents
- Conduct internal and external patrols of site areas
- Issue and manage security access cards and site inductions
- Ensure all personnel have correct approvals and access levels
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and daily activity records
- Monitor perimeter security and prevent unauthorised access
- Provide traffic control for pedestrian and vehicle entry points
- Communicate effectively via radio, email, and reporting systems About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar security role
- Strong experience in gatehouse, access control, or critical infrastructure environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Office and reporting systems)
- Ability to write explicit and accurate incident reports
- Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities Mandatory Requirements
- Current Victoria Security Licence
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence with Vehicle
