Project Engineer – Civil Contractor (Latrobe City)

Experience in concrete, earthworks and civil would be ideal. Project Engineer Our client is a well-established national market leading tier 2 civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer to join their growing business. Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a challenging projects. Types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation etc. Typical values from $5m to $50m but can go up to $200m. This project involves foundations, concrete, earthworks, civil and the candidate will report into a Project Manager on a $70m+ project. The candidate can either live locally in the Latrobe Valley region or on a drive in / drive out basis with the company funding accommodation etc. Years of experience 4 to 8yrs + Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and scheduling of construction activities
- Management of site project teams
- Quality Assurance, Cost and Time Management
- Preparation of management reports
- Resolving site issues in a timely manner
- Liaising with key clients and stakeholders
- Coordinating internal and external resources Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
- 4 to 8+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects
- Proven understanding of construction with a hands‑on approach
- Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate
- Effective problem solving abilities
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
- High level of organisation and time management skills
