Infectious Diseases & General Medicine Physician Latrobe Regional Health is a leading provider of health care services across the Gippsland Region and is seeking an Infectious Diseases & General Medicine Physician to join its growing Medical Services team on a part‑time ongoing basis. About the role The Physician will provide high‑quality specialist medical care to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. This senior clinical role is responsible for delivering protected, evidence‑based care aligned with clinical governance frameworks, supporting continuity of care and multidisciplinary collaboration, and supervising and educating junior medical staff and students. The Physician will contribute to service development, clinical leadership, and the advancement of organisational priorities within the Internal Medicine division. Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality infectious diseases and general medicine services, ensuring care is aligned with clinical guidelines, safety standards and organisational policies.
- Develop and implement patient‑centred care plans, ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication and continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide leadership, supervision and teaching to junior medical staff, medical students and multidisciplinary team members.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external providers, including general practitioners, to support coordinated and integrated care.
- Contribute to clinical governance, including development and review of protocols, policies and quality improvement initiatives to promote best practice.
- Participate in service planning, hospital activities and on‑call and ward service rosters as required within the specialty. About you Ideal candidates for this role will have:
- MBBS (or equivalent) with registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
- Demonstrated clinical expertise commensurate with a specialist Infectious Diseases and General Medicine Physician.
- A strong commitment to patient‑centred care, clinical quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor and support junior medical staff and students.
- Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Postgraduate qualifications in public health, research or management (desirable). Benefits
