To support our business expansion in Australia, we are seeking energetic and results-driven Business Development Managers for our Drilling, Piling Rigs and Mobile Cranes to spearhead sales, leasing, and market development from our Melbourne base. Position Purpose The Business Development Manager will act as a high-performing "hunter" responsible for accelerating market penetration across Australia. In this role, you will champion our premier product lines—including SANY drilling rigs, piling rigs, and mobile cranes—alongside our broader portfolio of forklifts, material handlers, and wheel loaders. You will secure new clients, cultivate strategic relationships, and deliver tailored equipment solutions for major infrastructure, construction, and mining projects. Key Responsibilities Business Growth: Proactively identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities for SANY drilling rigs, piling rigs, and mobile cranes across key industry sectors in Australia. End-to-End Sales Management: Manage the full sales and hire cycle — from lead generation and client engagement through to proposal preparation, tender submission, negotiation, and deal closure. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing customers by understanding their project needs and providing tailored equipment solutions that add value. Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry developments, competitor offerings, and market conditions to strategically position Ten-League’s value proposition and identify growth opportunities. Collaboration & Execution: Work closely with internal teams and OEM partners to ensure the timely delivery, commissioning, and aftersales support of equipment post-sale or hire. Performance Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales pipelines, forecasts, and activity reports for review with the National Sales Manager. Strategic Contribution: Provide insights and recommendations to management on market trends, pricing strategies, and customer feedback to strengthen the company’s market presence and competitive edge. Qualifications & Experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of proven sales or business development experience in heavy machinery or premium OEM sectors (experience with cranes or piling rigs highly preferred).
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to independently hunt for new business, manage multi-million-dollar sales cycles, and win complex corporate tenders.
- Network: An existing network of contacts within the Australian tier-1 construction sector.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand mechanical/engineering specifications to consult effectively on customized project requirements.
- Travel: Willingness to travel regionally and interstate as required to meet clients and close deals.
