Description
Job Overview A Civil Works Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and operating essential water and sewer infrastructure for the Central Coast Council. The position involves providing engineering technical support, developing detailed specifications, planning maintenance programs, and overseeing project management tasks while ensuring safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Provide engineering technical support for water and sewer operations.
- Develop detailed specifications, work instructions, and procedures.
- Plan maintenance programs and schedule asset condition assessments.
- Oversee project management tasks and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with managers, peers, and field teams.
- Contribute to the safety and compliance of operations.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience with ongoing career development.
- Class C driver’s licence.
- Construction General Induction Card – NSW SafeWork or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of water and sewer assets such as pumping stations, mains and reservoirs.
- Experience in project management and research, problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with developing and implementing scheduled maintenance programs and compiling condition assessment reports. Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary up to $106.6k, progression to $123.5k upon assessment of skills and performance.
- 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance and 12% superannuation.
- Perpetual full‑time role with a 9‑day fortnight and hybrid working (2 days from home, 3 days onsite).
- Lease‑back vehicle or vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. Benefits
