Description Senior Development Planner responsible for advising on planning, development, property and land use matters, mentoring other planners, and working on complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Activities of This Role
- Provide high‑level professional and technical planning advice on development and land use to council, staff, the community and relevant authorities, ensuring strong customer service and quality outcomes.
- Assess development proposals and applications, identify impacts and issues, and determine appropriate requirements/conditions to support orderly development in line with relevant policies.
- Review and prepare planning documentation, including assessment reports, conditions of consent, policy reviews and strategic planning documents.
- Coordinate and manage complex development matters and special projects, lead/participate in cross‑functional teams, and prepare submissions/represent council at relevant panels and the Land and Environment Court within required timeframes. To Be Successful in This Role
- Degree qualification in Town Planning or a related field.
- Demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development.
- Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence. Other Important Information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to $102,804.44. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $123,581.19 on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation.
- Permanent full‑time role available.
- Access to a 9 day fortnight.
- Hybrid and flexible working conditions – 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
- Located at the Wyong Administration Building.
