Research Associate / Postdoctoral Research Associate (Broadway)

**About the role**

We’re seeking a passionate **Research Associate / Postdoctoral Research Associate** to undertake research in the Centre for Clean Energy Technology and play a contributing role in developing UTS’ research in the area of energy storage to achieve and maintain national leadership and international recognition.

The Postdoctoral Research Associates will conduct cutting-edge research in the area of rechargeable batteries, particularly focusing on high-energy batteries with improved safety and lower cost. This project will integrate electrode material architecture design and synthesis, electrolyte modulation, electrochemical testing, and identification of the correlations between different components and battery performance.

At the UTS School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, we do research that matters, in an industry-oriented, multidisciplinary environment, linking fundamental research to practical problems. The School deliver's research which has impact on these major challenges facing society, together with educated and adaptable students who can contribute to their solution in a collaborative program of engagement with employers, industry and government.

**About You**

This role requires someone who can inspire and guide the next generation of researchers while driving impactful research outcomes. Other requirements include:

- A PhD in in Chemistry (or Electrochemistry), Materials Science & Engineering, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering
- Extensive knowledge of electrochemical energy storage and conversion, in particular, rechargeable battery technology
- Strong research and publication track record
- Ability to secure competitive research grants

**What We Offer**

**Base Salary Range**: $92,761 to $112,977 pa (Level A)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) **in addition**to the base salary.

The position is **full-time** and will be made **2-year fixed term basis.**
