**About the Team**
The UTS Ageing Research Collaborative (UARC) is led by UTS academics from multiple faculties working in collaboration with researchers from other universities, aged-care providers, health services, government agencies and consumer groups with the aim of identifying evidence-based solutions to the issues facing ageing and aged care.
UARC is recruiting a Policy Advisor who will work across multiple faculties and will be based in the UTS Business School. The UTS Business School is the largest Faculty at UTS and one of the largest business schools in Australia with over 10,000 students and 350 staff.
**About the Role**
The UTS Ageing Research Collaborative (UARC) is led by UTS academics from multiple faculties working in collaboration with researchers from other universities, aged-care providers, health services, government agencies and consumer groups with the aim of identifying evidence-based solutions to the issues facing ageing and aged care.
UARC is recruiting a Policy Advisor who will work across multiple faculties and will be based in the UTS Business School. The UTS Business School is the largest Faculty at UTS and one of the largest business schools in Australia with over 10,000 students and 350 staff.
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Policy function of UARC and will have an instrumental role in delivering UARCs evidence-based public policy programs and projects. The role includes: supporting the strategic positioning of UARC in aged care public policy; collaborating on policy focussed research including economic, financial and legislative analysis; undertaking or collaborating on the drafting of policy reports, papers and presentations; and developing UARC researchers’ public policy skills.
This role will be offered as a full-time two year fixed-term appointment.
**With examples, please outline in a seperate document, how you meet the following key selection criteria**: 1) Expertise and experience in public policy, including economic, financial, and legislative analysis and evidence-based policy development, with a strong working knowledge of policy research and the translation of results for impact.
2) Knowledge of the development and implementation of public policy in Australia, Australian parliamentary processes, and the Australian policy workplace relevant to aged care.
3) Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and detail, whilst at times working under pressure, and to quickly respond to requests while maintaining excellent work presentation.
4) Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and experience in briefing and advising on complex policy.
5) Expertise in building targeted stakeholder networks which deliver mutual benefits.
**Remuneration and Benefits**
**Base Salary Range: $115,265 to $131,274 pa (HEW 8)**
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices, childcare centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
This position is **full-time**, and appointment will be made on a **fixed term basis for two years**.
