The People Unit at UTS is embarking on an exciting period of transformation, designed to elevate the support we provide to the university and position us for a dynamic, digitally enabled future. This transformation is all about creating a more strategic, agile, and future-focused People Unit, allowing us to provide even more effective support to UTS, enabling the university to thrive in its evolving landscape.
As part of this transformation, we are seeking experienced People Consultants to join our team and make a significant impact in supporting the university's HR operations.
About the Role
As a People Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality HR services to managers and staff within designated client teams. Reporting to the Manager, People Consultants, you will provide expert advice on a wide range of people management issues, support HR initiatives, and work closely with client managers to ensure effective operations. You will be responsible for guiding managers through recruitment, performance management, workplace relations, and compliance, ensuring the university’s strategic goals are met. This role requires a solid understanding of HR principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a quick-paced setting. In this role you will:
Provide operational HR guidance and support to managers and staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Strategic Business Partners to meet client needs and deliver HR services aligned with agreed KPIs.
Advise managers on best practices in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
Support change management initiatives and deliver training sessions as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Base Salary Range: $104,251 to $115,327 pa (HEW 7). This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3q4vri
