About the Role The Platform Administrator oversees the management, configuration, and enhancement of the University's ServiceNow platform and ensures it's smooth operation. The role serves as a technical expert responsible for the day-to-day operation of the platform, with a strong focus on managing incidents and service requests to ensure timely resolution and service continuity while identifying opportunities to optimise platform performance, security and usability. They collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, cross-functional IT teams, and external partners to ensure seamless operation, optimisation, and innovation of solutions within ServiceNow that align with the University's objectives. About You As the Platform Administrator, you will have:
- Experience working with the ServiceNow platform is essential, including hands-on administration, configuration, and support in a live environment. Knowledge of environment maintenance practices-such as instance cloning, patching and upgrades, and platform reporting and monitoring-is highly regarded.
- Experience managing the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on performance monitoring and timely triage of issues and user enquiries.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within defined timeframes, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors while maintaining a robust focus on user experience.
- Experience operating within platform governance frameworks, including managing critical data and controls across user access, groups, and roles in both production and non-production environments.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery practices, with experience supporting their implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Strong documentation practices, including maintaining clear and up-to-date records of platform configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience using reporting and analytics in ServiceNow to monitor platform usage, performance, and overall effectiveness.
- Exposure to platform environment management activities such as instance cloning, patching, and upgrades, with an awareness of minimising user impact and maintaining platform currency.
- Ability to identify and apply platform capabilities to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles, including vulnerability management, security patching, and working with the cybersecurity team to support platform protection and risk mitigation.
- Familiarity with asset and configuration management practices and their application within an enterprise environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, maintaining knowledge of platform capabilities, industry practices, and emerging trends.
- This role serve as the primary contact for emergencies and may require attendance after hours or during weekends to assist the team during Changes that occur outside of the normal working day or to assist in any P1 or P2 incidents. Remuneration and benefits Base Salary Range: $109,014 to $120,596 pa (HEW 7) This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
