Description
The UTS Research Office is a central key unit within the Research Division that supports and enables research funding activities across UTS in partnership with the Faculty research offices. Within the Research Office, the Research Grants Team (led by the Deputy Director), is responsible for funding identification, proposal development, review and submission through to establishment and post-award support. This includes the coordination, planning and post-award management for major grant rounds such as ARC/NHMRC, and also other domestic (Australian) and international as well as internal grants. The Research Grants Team works closely with other teams in the Research Office to support the research funding environment. Detailed Description About the Role We are seeking a Research Grants Officer (HEW 6) to support UTS researchers and faculty colleagues across all stages of research grants from finding funding and preparing applications to managing awards and post‑award processes like reporting and variations. This role will focus on pre‑award grant support for UTS researchers. While the Position Description shows that this position is broad banded, we are seeking a HEW 6 only. In this role, you will help grow the quality and volume of grant‑funded research and partnerships at UTS, while ensuring compliance with funder requirements. Responsibilities
- Support research grants (internal and external), including identifying opportunities, preparing applications, managing compliance, and submission.
- Provide tailored guidance to researchers on funder and university requirements, including budgeting, proposal development, and use of research systems; deliver training and troubleshooting support.
- Coordinate and manage internal grant schemes and major funding rounds (e.g., ARC/NHMRC), ensuring timely, compliant submissions and efficient administration of assessment and award processes.
- Lead the development, review, and improvement of grant‑related resources, systems, and processes; manage complex grant agreements and resolve issues to maintain strong funder relationships. Base Salary & Benefits Base Salary Range: $98,792
- $106,966 pa (HEW 6) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
