Due to our continued growth, ISF is seeking talented and dynamic recent graduates. You will work on engaging and impactful research projects in our Energy Futures, Resource Stewardship, Climate-KIC, International Development, Business Economy and Governance, and Water Futures programs. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a flexible approach, who received excellent academic results in their degree. With a genuine desire to learn, and a passion for and knowledge of sustainability, you will possess strong writing, communication and analytical abilities. Working with a team of exceptional senior researchers on multiple concurrent projects, you will gain mentorship and support across a range of disciplines and contribute to applied research that makes a real difference. Detailed Description About the Role We are looking for early career researchers with qualitative and/or quantitative skills who are capable of contributing to high-impact research in a consultancy-style environment. You will be motivated and fascinated about sustainability, be curious and love learning. For quantitative researchers, proficiency in Excel is essential. Experience using other quantitative programs is desirable. For qualitative researchers, experience with literature reviews, essay and report writing, and qualitative research skills will be well regarded. We would like to hear from graduates who have a strong interest in sustainability and have a flexible approach to working on different issues and with a range of team members. You will contribute as a team member to research project tasks, stakeholder engagement and outreach, and assisting with the preparation of proposals for external funding opportunities and written reports and publications. This early career research role is suitable for recent graduates at an undergraduate or master level. - Research skills (qualitative or quantitative): You enjoy working with data and/or people to answer research questions, using qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods. You have completed, or are close to completing, an undergraduate or masters degree relevant to applied research.
- Communication skills: You communicate clearly in writing and conversations, contributing to reports, presentations or engagement activities.
- Project management skills: You can support research projects by managing tasks, timelines and competing priorities.
- Community engagement/relationships experience: You value respectful relationships and have experience engaging thoughtfully with communities or stakeholders.
- Knowledge of some sustainability issues and ways of working: You bring curiosity and respect to sustainability challenges, perspectives and practices. Base Salary Range: $85,165
- $97,429 pa (HEW 5) This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits including flexible work practices, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
