**About the program**

Abergeldie is one of two delivery partners engaged to support Yarra Valley Water’s Delivery Reliability Program. Over the next 12 years, this program will ensure the continued reliability of water and sewer networks through planned inspections, maintenance, and renewals, supporting the health and wellbeing of customers, communities, and the environment.

**About the chance**

We are seeking a Community and Engagement Advisor to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring effective communication and engagement with communities affected by the Yarra Valley Program. This is a hands-on role where you will develop and implement engagement strategies while also working directly within the community—ensuring that stakeholders are informed, consulted, and supported throughout the program.

This role is based in our Tullamarine office but will require regular site visits and community interactions across the Yarra Valley Water service area. Day to day you will;
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies and action plans.
- Act as the primary point of contact for community members, responding to inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care, both face-to-face and through other communication channels.
- Ensuring Abergeldie meets Yarra Valley Water customer service performance benchmarks, including tracking, reporting, and improving customer complaint resolution.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure proactive and timely communication with impacted residents and stakeholders.
- Facilitate information sessions, community meetings, and site visits to maintain transparency and foster positive relationships, including coordinating letter drops and other communication materials as needed
- Collaborate with Yarra Valley Water and other stakeholders to align engagement activities with broader program goals.
- This role will also support our social procurement activities, providing assistance to our social procurement team on various initiatives as required

**What You’ll Bring to the Team**:

- Experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, or communications, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Strong ability to plan and execute engagement strategies while also being hands-on in implementation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Ability to build relationships with community members, local councils, and other stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
- A valid driver’s licence, as regular travel within the Yarra Valley region will be required.
