Belong to something bigger. About this Position We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Tweed Heads team as a Library Assistant, covering a period of parental leave. As a Library Assistant with Richmond Tweed Regional Library, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality services to library patrons. Working within a multi‑skilled team, you will support a range of library operations, including maintaining and providing access to library collections, facilitating children’s programs, assisting customers, and using automated information systems and databases. This is a temporary, part‑time role (31 hours per fortnight) offered on a maximum‑term 11.5‑month contract from mid‑June 2026 to 31 May 2027. The position is based across Tweed Area Libraries, including Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, and Murwillumbah. Working hours are scheduled over a four‑week roster and include Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and alternate Saturdays. What we can offer you

- Participating in process and service improvement projects in the team.
- Using automated information systems and databases.
- Communicating effectively with library patrons to meet their information needs.

- Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
- Australian Citizenship or appropriate VISA to work in Australia.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Good numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail. Conditions of Employment Part‑time, maximum‑term contract position through to May 2027, requiring 31 hours of work per fortnight. Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements. Salary Grade 5, $31.80 to $36.57 an hour, plus superannuation.
