About Us Wing’s Wildlife Park is a family‑owned and operated tourist attraction offering a multi award‑winning wildlife park, campground, accommodation units, and country‑style café. Operating for nearly 40 years, Wing’s Wildlife Park provides the perfect place for guests to relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a unique Tasmanian wildlife experience. We operate 7 days per week, including most public holidays (closed Christmas Day and Anzac Day). About The Role This position is primarily focused on guest services, reception, admissions, retail, and general front‑of‑house operations, with occasional assistance provided to the café during busy periods. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a fast‑paced tourism environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences. - Previous experience in reception, tourism, hospitality, retail, administration, or customer service is highly regarded Key Responsibilities Front of House & Reception
- Welcome guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage admissions, reservations, accommodation and camping enquiries, and ticket sales.
- Provide information about the wildlife park, presentations, encounters, accommodation, and experiences.
- Promote and upsell park experiences, retail items, and café offerings.
- Answer phone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Operate POS/EFTPOS systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Assist with general administrative and reception duties, including filing and correspondence.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception and retail area.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including till reconciliation.
- Support special events, birthday parties, group bookings, and functions.
- Assist with gift shop presentation, stock control, inventory, and merchandising.
- Assist with training recent staff members when required. Café Service
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service while taking food and beverage orders using POS/EFTPOS systems.
- Prepare and serve basic hot and cold beverages, including coffees, milkshakes, and cold drinks (barista experience highly regarded).
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming cafe environment during service. Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, administration, or front‑of‑house roles preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with guests and colleagues both verbally and in writing.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher, with the ability to manage emails, use basic spreadsheets and templates, format professional documents, and assist with administrative tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, presentation, and customer awareness, ensuring guests are attended to promptly whenever possible.
- Ability to handle customer enquiries and complaints calmly, professionally, and with composure.
- Basic math and cash‑handling skills, along with good spelling and grammar.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A high standard of personal presentation and professionalism.
- Availability to work between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays, or as agreed with the Manager.
