Risby Cove is seeking an experienced Hotel Manger to lead its growing team of hospitality professionals in the picturesque village of Strahan, Tasmania. Located on the shore of magnificent Macquarie Harbour, Risby Cove has a reputation for offering the premier accommodation and dining experience in this popular tourism region.
The Hotel Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all Risby Cove business operations and staff to ensure outstanding service in our boutique luxury guest suites and cabins, and our multiple food and beverage service areas.
Working with team managers (Head Chef, Housekeeping Manager, Assistant Manager), the Hotel Manager will bear primary responsibility for the smooth and compliant execution of day-to-day operations, the fair and effective management of staff, delivering an outstanding guest experience and ensuring that all operational areas meet agreed KPIs.
The Hotel Manager will work closely with the CEO, providing timely advice and assistance on strategic direction, growing the business, and developing plans and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including Work Health and Safety, equity and inclusion, and food safety standards. The Hotel Manager will take a lead role in ensuring that policies and plans are effectively communicated to staff and implemented business-wide.
The Hotel Manager will also work with the Head Chef on the creation of menus and the development and delivery of special events and guest experience packages.They will take a lead role in marketing the business, including managing Risby Cove’s social media presence and representing Risby Cove at industry events and forums, and will be responsible for guest satisfaction and reviews.
As leader on-the-ground, the Hotel Manger will have a sound understanding of business-wide operations and will be able to act on behalf of the CEO as required.This will include fiscal management and reporting, staff recruitment and management (including rostering and timesheet oversight) and ensuring that service and housekeeping standards are maintained. They will also play a hands-on role in reception/front-of-house administration.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Oversee all activities related to reservations, reception, room service, and housekeeping. Supervise security measures and ensure proper property upkeep, including gardens. Plan and direct bar, restaurant, event, and conference operations. Monitor compliance with liquor, gaming, and other regulatory requirements. Evaluate and enhance customer satisfaction by addressing feedback. Manage financial processes such as accounting and purchasing. Ensure all operations comply with health and safety standards. Assist guests with local tourism advice and coordinate travel or tour arrangements.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in a relevant field. Experience in managing hotels or motels, with a focus on hospitality services. Solid understanding of hospitality regulations and operational standards. Leadership skills with a focus on organization and management. Familiarity with running food, beverage, and event services. Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and purchasing. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to enforce and adhere to occupational safety regulations effectively.
