- Caring for Country People ucsa.org.au **Description**: About The Position **Position Location**: Kadina **Position Status**: Full Time **Closing Date for Applications**: 26th January 2024 The Domestic Violence Service provide support to people who are at risk of or experiencing Domestic Violence. As the Domestic Violence Education and Community Based Liaison Officer, you will work to engage, liaise and provide education and information to clients, the local community and other local services. As well as supporting clients with community connections and other additional supports as required. Please view the Position Description for further information on the duties and responsibilities of the role. **Skills and Experiences**: **You will**: Support families to make meaningful changes in the short, medium and long term. Encourage children and young people to contribute their views about positive changes within their families. Support children and young people to meet their emotional, physical, developmental and practical needs Support the families to create safe and nurturing environments for the children and young people to learn and grow. **It is essential for you to have**:
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Relevant experience in Homelessness, Domestic/Family Violence or similar positions, in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Certificate IV (or above) in a Human Services related discipline.
A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related discipline (e.g. Social Work) will be highly regarded. You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
- Have you got any experience in delivering group work and/or guest speaking roles?
- Tell us about your understanding of Domestic and Family Violence and it’s impacts on victims/survivors and children?
- Can you list some of your personal strengths that would be relevant to the role of Domestic Violence Education and Community Based Liaison Officer?
- Have you got any experience linking people to other services? What relevant services are in your area?
- Can you provide a brief summary of how you can ensure accountability while working off-site independently?
