**Hours**: 0.4 FTE ongoing (working days are negotiable)
**Location**:Based at Kadina or Maitland with regular travel across the region required (Gawler, Barossa, Yorke Peninsula, Mid-North)
**About the Role**: The Indigenous Health Project Officer (IHPO) will ensure there is a focus on Aboriginal health and aim to improve the integration of care across the Gawler, Barossa, Yorke Peninsula and Mid-North region). The role supports mainstream practices and primary health providers to be culturally safe and better engaging with Aboriginal people to access appropriate primary health care for all their health and wellbeing needs.
**Experience Requirements**:
- High level interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and consultative skills reflected in an ability to engage and collaborate with, a wide range of service providers and community members.
- Appropriate level of experience in primary health care delivery.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal health issues, priorities and policies.
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast paced environment.
**Qualification and Other Requirements**:
- Qualification and/or skills and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, able to provide leadership on Indigenous health issues tailored to meet the needs of the communities within the PHN region.
- Drivers Licence (travel is essential in this role)
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
