Overview Zenviron are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Newcastle‑based Engineering team, with a primary focus on power system studies for large‑scale wind and BESS projects. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of utility‑scale wind farm and BESS projects, leading key power system studies and supporting grid connection and broader design outcomes. This role is well suited to a detail‑oriented engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to large‑scale infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret project documentation, including scopes of work, specifications, planning approvals, and network connection requirements.
- Develop and maintain power system models and undertake power system studies including insulation co‑ordination, transient recovery voltage (TRV), lightning and switching, transformer inrush, load flow, and short circuit.
- Prepare and review technical calculations, modelling assessments, and engineering reports to support project design, meet grid connection requirements, and comply with relevant standards.
- Respond to technical queries, requests for information, and stakeholder comments.
- Support project design development and the delivery of engineering documentation.
- Coordinate engineering inputs with project teams, consultants, and relevant stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations to achieve best project outcomes. What we are looking for
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, holding or eligible for CPEng and state‑based professional registration (e.g. RPEQ, RPEV).
- Experience undertaking power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and either PSCAD (preferred) or EMTP for utility, transmission, or renewable energy projects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality outputs.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for technical stakeholder engagement.
- Full working rights in Australia.
