Planning and Stock Control Coordinator (Petfood), Australia (12-Month Contract) The Planning & Stock Control Coordinator is responsible for developing weekly and monthly supply plans that align production capacity with customer demand. The role encompasses raw material procurement, inventory and safety stock management, finished goods logistics and ERP administration, collaborating closely with cross functional teams to ensure accurate stock availability and on-time order fulfilment. You will proactively monitor stock levels, resolves supply conflicts and tracks KPIs to support efficient and continuous supply chain operations The Position:
- Develop realistic weekly and monthly supply plans that align production output and input requirements with customer demand, taking into account production capacity, capability and current inventory levels
- Continuously review and adjust supply plans in response to conflicts, shifting priorities and external changes including supply disruptions, logistics constraints and evolving customer requirements.
- Confirm stock availability and committed dispatch dates to the Sales Department for both domestic and export orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain safety stock at minimum target levels to ensure uninterrupted order fulfilment for up to 2 weeks in the event of production breakdowns or disruptions.
- Coordinate finished goods logistics in alignment with the weekly production plan and available stock on hand; raise and manage Purchase Orders accurately within the ERP system
- Place weekly procurement orders for poultry raw materials and oversee the receipt, verification and invoice approval of incoming goods via the ERP system.
- Create and manage production work orders in the ERP system, ensuring all relevant batch numbers are accurately assigned and communicated to operators through the production schedule
- Oversee transfer work orders including product unloading and customer allocation, ensuring correct packaging is applied throughout.
- Monitor and manage rework and trial stock, ensuring finished goods shelf life does not exceed 3 months; maintain an up-to-date stock file and communicate proactively with relevant stakeholders
- Manage the external finished goods warehouse, coordinating all inbound and outbound transport operations efficiently
- Track conformance to the supply plan, documenting and communicating any deviations or changes to the Supply Chain and Factory Manager for prompt resolution
- Analyse KPI performance against set objectives, identifying variances and supporting data-driven improvements across the supply chain function The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in supply planning or production scheduling role in a manufacturing setting.
- Solid understanding of inventory and stock management practices including demand forecasting, production planning and scheduling
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize with agility in a fast-paced environment, with sharp analytical thinking and sound numerical reasoning skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly across teams
- Proven experience working with ERP systems with a customer focused mindset and commitment to service excellence
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to interpret, manage and report on data effectively
