The role Are you a dynamic digital leader with experience and a passion for leading and developing teams, driving innovation and operational excellence? If so, this role is for you! As the Manager Digital Initiatives & Applications Support , you will lead multidiscipline teams to deliver and manage the lifecycle of digital solutions and application services within Crown Lands. This role oversees the implementation of the Digital and Data Strategy, ensuring systems and software support and align with business needs, and contribute to up-to-date, efficient service delivery across the organisation. What you’ll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of the Digital Solutions and Application Support Teams, ensuring business continuity whilst delivering modern, efficient, and scalable digital tools.
- Analyse existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and lead cross-functional teams to implement transformative solutions aligned with the Crown Lands Digital & Data strategy.
- Champion the adoption of mobile technologies and e-services to deliver intuitive, user-centric digital experiences.
- Manage the full lifecycle of business applications—from installation to monitoring—while upholding robust governance, security, and compliance standards in collaboration with the DPHI Digital Information Office.
- Troubleshoot application issues, maintain operational documentation, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and resolutions.
- Develop frameworks and technical empower digital teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Serve as the key liaison between Crown Lands and the DPHI Digital Information Office, ensuring alignment with departmental policies, architecture, and strategic ICT initiatives. What you will bring to the role
- Proven and strong leadership skills to engage staff, drive operational support services and systems, digital integration, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in system analysis and design including in requirements gathering and documenting functional requirements, understanding business requirements/processes, designing web applications, integration, and user interfaces.
- Expertise in governance, compliance, and digital service delivery
- A strategic thinker with hands‑on technical acumen and a passion for public sector innovation Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in managing application and development teams
- Experience in system integration and middleware ideally with PaaS/SaaS environments.
