Structural Engineer Reporting to the Regional Manager – NSW, you will be responsible for the structural design of process plants and their associated infrastructure across various projects. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis at our Newcastle CBD office. Key duties
- Undertake the structural design of materials handling and processing facility structures such as conveyors, bins and process buildings
- Develop cost-effective designs that are project appropriate and to the clients’ needs
- Provide technical support and guidance to the drafting team whilst supervising the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs
- Maintain and foster relationships with the DRA multidisciplinary team, clients and contractors
- Conduct site inspections during construction
- Perform regional structural inspections and reporting on brownfields structures, and develop design solutions to on-site structural issues Essential attributes
- Tertiary Degree – Civil / Structural Engineering
- 3+ years working in an engineering detailed design environment
- Solid maths and structural analysis skills
- Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safety
- Most importantly, an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn Advantageous attributes
- CPEng/Registered Status or working towards
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Space Gass or Strand7
- Experience in mining and/or heavy industry is highly regarded; however, we welcome candidates from other sectors and will provide support to build industry-specific knowledge. Here at DRA, we offer
