ClubMulwala is seeking a passionate Functions & Events Manager to build, lead and deliver unforgettable experiences from the ground up.
Club Mulwala is located on Lake Mulwala on the Victorian border. With over 160 team members, multiple dining outlets and bars, you will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the Club’s functions and events offering.
About the Role
As Functions & Events Manager, you will take full ownership of the end‑to‑end event journey- from first enquiry through to flawless delivery. With flexibility built into the working structure, this role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment.
You will:
Create and launch function packages aligned to the Club’s facilities and market demand
Proactively convert enquiries and leads into successful paid events
Plan and coordinate all event logistics, including room set‑ups, catering, entertainment and AV
Lead, train and support a small team to deliver exceptional service
Collaborate closely with Chefs, Duty Managers and senior leadership to ensure seamless operations
Build robust client relationships and exceed guest expectations
Review and critique events, driving continuous improvement and exceptional customer experiences
Our Ideal Candidate
You’re a confident, organised and people‑focused events leader who enjoys being on the floor as much as planning behind the scenes.
You’ll bring:
Experience managing a wide range of functions such as weddings, wakes, celebrations and corporate events (ideally 3+ years)
Robust organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to adapt on the go
Confidence using technology, including Microsoft Office and function booking platforms
A keen eye for detail and pride in delivering high‑quality events
An outgoing personality with the ability to connect with diverse clientele
RSA accreditation (essential)
