- $80000 pa Simmonds Laser and Tube Cutting is a growing steel laser cutting and pressing business located in Wangara, Western Australia. We are looking for a qualified full-time Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team in a long-term position. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in this role is a must. Mechanical Engineering Draftspersons and Technicians assist in mechanical engineering research, design, manufacture, construction, operation and maintenance of machines, manufacturing equipment, mechanical installations and facilities.
- Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
- Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
- Selecting tools and equipment
- Assembling and installing current and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions The preferred applicant will have experience in
- Laser cutting and pressing of steel materials
· Leading installations including upgrading and developing current processes
· Medium-High level of excel skills.
- Experience in mechanical engineering research
- Prefer 5 years+ experience
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of the machines
- Desirable industry experience within the mechanical drafting and manufacturing equipment
· Reliable, hardworking and self motivated
· Have attention to detail
· Punctual and honest This is a long term position with an attractive salary package ranging between $70,000.00-$80,000.00 plus superannuation with some overtime available.
