We pride ourselves on delivering vibrant, high-quality dishes and exceptional dining experiences to our local community. We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and business-minded Chef to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity.Position OverviewAs our Full-Time Chef, you will handle daily food preparation and high-volume wok cooking. You will specialize in traditional Malaysian Chinese flavor profiles, creating core sauces from scratch. Beyond cooking, you will manage kitchen inventory, monitor food costs, and optimize profit margins. This role requires a commitment to full time hours, including weekends and evenings.Key Responsibilities
- Sauce Production: Prepare authentic, high-quality base sauces from scratch including Mongolian, Cantonese, and Satay.
- Wok & Kitchen Operation: Efficiently run the wok station and oversee food output during busy full-time service periods.
- Financial Control: Track food portioning, minimize waste, and monitor recipe costs to protect profit margins.
- Inventory & Stock: Order fresh ingredients, manage suppliers, and conduct regular stocktakes.
- Food Safety: Maintain strict food hygiene, cleaning schedules, and safety standards (HACCP). Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Chef in a commercial Asian kitchen.
- Skills: Proven expertise in Malaysian, Chinese, or Southeast Asian cuisine and wok cooking.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of kitchen financials, food costing, and margin management.
- Availability: Must be fully available for full-time rostered shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute/relocate to Warragul.
- Visas: Full Australian working rights required Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year Benefits
