Job Summary We have opportunities for qualified Trade Cooks to join the Food Services Department at West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG). Under the guidance of the Head Chef, these positions are responsible for the preparation of meals for patients and residents, in accordance with standard recipes and production schedules. Our ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, the ability to read, understand and follow standard recipes, production lists and schedules, diet guidelines and safety instructions, and a strong history of being able to work as an effective team member. - Permanent part time, up to 24 hours per fortnight
- Casual opportunities available Health & Allied Services
- IN17 Cook Grade 3, $ per hour (excluding allowances) (Junior rates apply to employees aged under 19 years) Roster Hours: Up to 24 hours per fortnight Roster:
- Fortnight 1
- Week 1 Thursday: 09.00 AM – 5.30 PM
- Week 2 Thursday: 9.00 AM – 5.30 PM
- Fortnight 2
- Week 3 Thursday: 9.00 AM – 5.30 PM
- Friday: 9.00 AM – 5.30 PM
- Week 4 Thursday: 09.00 AM – 5.30 PM Position 2 – Trade Cook (Casual) Hours: Casuals are employed on an 'as needs' basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours. We offer a friendly, team-focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, and free car parking. Preferred Qualifications
- Protected Food Handlers Certificate – HLTTFS7A or equivalent.
- Extensive previous experience in a high-volume kitchen. Additional Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience with the cook chill food production system.
- Experience and proficiency in computer usage. Vaccination Requirement Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement. Benefits
