All positions are subject to mandatory screening and suitability requirements for working with children. The Role Relief teachers cover classes where regular teachers are absent for a short period of time. It is expected that relief teachers always behave in a manner that is professional, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity for effective communication. - Provide appropriate duty of care and maintain a consistent learning workplace for students during the absence of their regular teacher.
- Deliver the curriculum material provided by the absent teacher.
- Actively supervise students to ensure the set work is being completed.
- Maintain standards of student care and discipline in and outside of the classroom.
- Undertakes yard duty and other supervision duties as requested.
- Promotes the mission and ethos of the College and model appropriate standards of behaviour.
- Refers matters of concern in relation to students to the relevant year coordinator or supervisor. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
