About the Role
As a Water & Wastewater Operator, you will monitor, control and operate water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, recycling facilities and associated infrastructure to ensure compliance with legislative, environmental and operational standards.
This hands-on role also supports infrastructure maintenance activities and participates in the after-hours/on-call roster.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating and monitoring water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
- Maintaining compliance with statutory and environmental requirements
- Supporting Drinking Water Quality Management Plans and quality systems
- Coordinating sampling and plant monitoring activities
- Assisting with maintenance coordination and contractor supervision
- Responding to SCADA alarms and after-hours operational issues
- Working safely and contributing to a strong team culture About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Water and/or Wastewater Operations
- Relevant industry experience operating treatment plants and associated infrastructure
- Experience with automated operational systems and process control
- A current “C” Class Driver's Licence
- Solid problem-solving, communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork The following licences/certifications are required or must be obtained within 6 months:
- Confined Space Entry
- Senior First Aid
- LF Forklift Licence This role requires participation in Council's respirator fit-testing program.

- Permanent full-time position based in any of these Southern locations Clifton/ Greenmount/ Millmerran/Pittsworth
- as of July 2026
- base rate of $37.82 per hour ($1,437.10 per week) plus:
- $6.50 per hour
- additional skills allowance
- up to 12.65% superannuation
- 17.5% annual leave loading
