Part Time Disability Support Worker (Wadalba)

**PART-TIME DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**: Breaking Barriers Disability Services is an NDIS Registered Provider located in Wyong on the Central Coast. We pride ourselves on providing person centered supports to our Participants through Community Access, In Home Supports, Social Supports, Coordination of Supports, Supported Independent Living and Community Nursing. Our programs are tailored to provide people living with disabilities and their families, services to help them live safely and comfortably at home while actively enjoying their local Community.

Our organisation is expanding and we are seeking to employ motivated Part-Time Disability Support Workers to provide care and support to our Participants who reside within the Hamlyn Terrace and Wadalba areas.

The position will involve providing care to our Participants as per their NDIS Plans including; personal care, cleaning, cooking, taking Participants out within the community, administering medication (training provided) and transportation to appointments/outings.

We have a number of fixed shifts available throughout the week including:

- Day Shifts (6am
- 2pm)
- Afternoon Shifts (2pm
- 10pm)
- Sleep Over Shifts (2pm
- 6am) and
- Active Night Shifts (10pm
- 6am)

**ABOUT YOU**:

- A genuine passion and interest in working within the Disability sector.
- A positive and professional attitude about undertaking personal care work.
- A commitment to adhere to guidelines around privacy and confidentiality and all other company policies and procedures.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to establish a qualified working relationship with Participants that is supportive, encouraging and in line with their individual personal plan.
- Willingness to support Participants with complex supports needs including challenging behaviours and complex medical supports.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children Check for Paid Employment (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (a free online short course which can be completed if successful within the position)
- Infection Control Certificate (a free online short course which can be completed if successful within the position)
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence and own Comprehensively Insured vehicle
- RELIABILITY AND FLEXABILITY TO WORK DURING THE WEEK AND WEEKENDS
