**In this role, you'll**: Working as part of a team delivering safe, reliable, and productive maintenance and fault response across Sydney Trains’ signalling network, this role will see you lead a small, skilled work group based entirely out of Lawson.
With a strong focus on safety, team leadership, and technical excellence, you’ll plan and prioritise daily maintenance tasks, respond to signalling faults, and ensure all works meet operational and engineering standards. You’ll also use SAP to manage work orders, labour costing, and defect reporting, and play a key role in developing team capability and performance.
You will coordinate and participate in routine inspections, maintenance, emergency fault response, and minor project works to ensure signals assets are maintained and returned to service safely and efficiently. You'll motivate, guide, and coach your team, share technical advice, and help implement improvements in work practices and outcomes. Working closely with your Team Leader, you’ll ensure seamless communication, collaboration, and safety compliance in everything you do.

**About you** Your technical knowledge, leadership skills, and safety-first mindset, formed across electrical signalling, infrastructure maintenance, or rail operations, will see you deliver high-quality outcomes while supporting your team’s growth and capability. You're confident making decisions under pressure, experienced in fault diagnostics, and comfortable using digital systems like SAP to manage workflows and reporting.
You’re recognised as a qualified Signals Electrician (Level 4.3 competency) with a sound understanding of signalling assets and protected working procedures. You’re skilled at leading teams, solving problems, and driving results in field-based environments. Experience with fault response and willingness to obtain Protection Officer certification is ideal, as is holding a valid NSW Class C driver’s licence.
