**Hours per week**: 19 hours, flexible days
**Remuneration**_:_**_ _Band 5 salary from $83,536.96 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation
**Location**: Werribee based, with potential for a hybrid work arrangement
**About the role**
The **Volunteer Recruitment Officer** leads the end-to-end recruitment of volunteers for internal volunteering programs at Council. This work includes providing advice to the business about creating new volunteer programs and supporting compliance with all required policies and checks. The role also supports Council’s Volunteer Supervisors to deliver best practice management of volunteers and foster a consistent approach to volunteer management across Council in alignment with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
The Volunteer Recruitment Officer also manages the internal volunteer management system, Better Impact, and plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of data collection and management.
The current officer is moving to part time hours and this opportunity is to job share the role with this experienced staff member, which provides the opportunity for comprehensive hand-over and upskilling.
**What your day will look like**
- Respond to volunteer enquiries and promote volunteer opportunities.
- Manage police and Working with Children Check compliance for current and new volunteers.
- Managing and supporting the use of Council’s volunteer management program, Better Impact, including the running of reports, identifying continuous improvements, and creating surveys, training, and new volunteer roles.
- Co-ordinate individual volunteer recognition and help with the annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
**What you will bring**
- Degree or diploma course in a relevant field with little or no relevant work experience, or less formal qualifications but with relevant work skills or experience in recruitment and/or management of volunteer programs.
- Understanding of National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and policies, regulations, guidelines and procedures relevant to the development and delivery of best practice Volunteer programs.
- Awareness of ‘best practice’ in the life cycle of a volunteer and an understanding of the support required.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work in a methodical way.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- An employee working with children check
If you progress past the interview stage, you will be required to complete pre-employment screening, which will include a Working with Children check and police check, and potentially a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
