Shift Team Leader – Derrimut Manufacturing Facility As a hands‑on leader, you will manage shift‑to‑shift operations and performance of the factory while working closely with a small team. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our extrusion lines and production areas, achieving quality outputs that meet all standards and customer expectations. What will you do?
- Work an 8‑hour rotating shift‑based roster (day/afternoon/night): 6 am–2 pm, 2 pm–10 pm, 10 pm–6 am.
- Lead and develop the health and safety culture for the team.
- Provide leadership and supervision for the team on shift.
- Engage and motivate the team to solve issues collaboratively.
- Support operators and play a key role in their learning, development, competency and experience in daily operations, continuous improvement, safety and quality practices, and effective teamwork. About you
- 3–5 years of demonstrated leadership experience and proven shift management of small/medium‑sized teams in plastics/FMCG or continuous batch manufacturing; heavy industrial operations preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands‑on approach to leading and mentoring a team.
- Strong ability to set and align balanced operational priorities with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, throughput, proactive reporting and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in computer systems, specifically MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SAP (advantageous).
- Effective communication skills across a diverse workforce.
- Excellent time management, sense of urgency, problem‑solving skills and results focus to meet daily production KPIs and targets.
- Collaborative style and cross‑functional engagement.
- Can‑do attitude, flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to help us grow our manufacturing capability.
- Valid forklift licence.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident with own transport and driver's licence. Why join us?
