Maintenance Fitter (Level 2) – Food Manufacturing Location: Laverton North Shift: Afternoon Shift – 4:00pm to 12:00am We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter with a minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner) to join a quick‑paced food manufacturing environment at our Laverton site. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining, repairing and improving plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. About the Role – Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plant equipment in line with trade practices. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment
- Diagnose faults and repair mechanical systems efficiently
- Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Conduct safety checks in line with maintenance schedules
- Support continuous improvement and equipment upgrades
- Participate in on‑call roster for breakdown support
- Work closely with production, QA and maintenance teams About You
- Minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner) or equivalent trade qualification
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter within manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Good communication skills and strong team focus
- Commitment to safety, quality and compliance Desirable Skills
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and boilers
- Forklift, EWP or confined space tickets What’s on Offer
