About the opportunity

This is an exciting chance for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) and Medical Day Stay (MDS) unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital as Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM).

DOSA / MDS Unit is known as a:
- Diverse and exciting team that is committed to providing patients with high quality patient-centred nursing care- A fast paced unit that is continually evolving to accommodate the growing needs of Wyndham council, its surrounding communities and beyond.- Dynamic and cohesive team that supports innovation and professional development- Multi-disciplinary team- Rotating roster between DOSA and MDS. Our unit operates from Monday to Friday
- no public holidays, no weekends.

As an ANUM:
- You will have management responsibility, particularly in the day to day organization of DOSA / MDS.- Work as member of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality patient-centred care- Act a s a role model by encouraging the best practice philosophy amongst the staff and practice within the core values of Mercy Health- Maintenance and development of pre and post-operative processes and implementation of quality discharge planning.

Essential qualifications needed:
- Extensive experience in general surgical and medical area- Surgical and medical day experience- A willingness to assume the duties of a higher grade as required- Qualifications in administration of chemotherapy is desired but not essential

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.- Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
