We are embarking on rapid growth, through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions. This has included the recent acquisition of four hay processing facilities, all operating under the Hay Australia brand, making our group a leader in the Australian Export Hay industry. Additionally, we work with industry partners to supply other animal feed products to customers across the globe.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The role of National Production & Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the management of the groups production facilities, with site-based production managers and a compliance & safety manager as direct reports. You will work closely with the group General Manager and the management team to ultimately aid the company in delivering on our customer promise and financial performance goals.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
- Lead and motivate the groupwide production & engineering team.
- Work together with the management team to formulate a production plan best utilising the facilities capabilities.
- Plan and manage all aspects of manufacturing, maintenance & safety working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Take the production & engineering team on a path of continuous improvement.
- Implement systems & processes to manage & enhance performance of the facilities.
- Set and manage to budgets.
- Provide regular updates and report on production performance to the internal stakeholders.
- Resolve problems concerning people performance, machine downtime, site productivity, maintenance, or safety.
- Manage relationships and monitor performance of supply partners.

**PREFERRED SKILLS**
- A Bachelor degree in relevant discipline or equivalent
- A willingness to fit into a culture of accountability and become part of a small team with a “can-do” attitude
- Demonstrated experience managing people and promoting an effective team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate individuals to ensure the company's shared vision and goals are achieved.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical manufacturing & worksite safety.
- Experience in an unpredictable and at times, high-pressure environment.
- The ability to create collaborative and productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders
- A customer service focus.
- Attention to detail, excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance and/or safety.
- Safety qualifications/experience will be highly regarded.
- Confident around software systems. Experience with MEX & OFS environment preferred.
