Metal Fabricator (Hopeland)

Rivlow Pty Ltd is looking for **qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator** to join our team located in Hopeland. As a family run business Rivlow Portables specialises in both commercial and residential transportable buildings and delivering them across WA. This hands-on role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding steel components to accurate specifications, ensuring structural integrity and high-quality finishes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Fabricate and assemble steel chassis, wall frames, and structural components for transportable buildings.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including MIG welders, grinders, saws, and drills.
- cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
- cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Assist in the installation and alignment of chassis and frame structures.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to meet project timelines.

**Skills**and Experience:

- A certificate III with two years of on-the-job training OR a Certificate IV with 1 year of work experience OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding (MIG/TIG).
- Strong understanding of steel frame construction or modular building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
