- Free facility access and great benefits We are looking for a manager to deliver and drive exceptional customer service and a culture of innovation! The Venue Belgravia Leisure is the proud council partner of Western Downs Council . We are the management team for this venue, serving the Chinchilla community and surrounding areas with programs and facilities for people of all ages and abilities. With both a 25m indoor pool and a 50m outdoor pool, members can enjoy swimming year-round, and a 24/7 health club builds strength and endurance. Chinchilla Aquatic and Fitness Centre provides opportunities for the whole family to get active. The Role The Venue Manager will be a strong people leader responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading a skillful and passionate team. You will develop and execute plans through engagement with the leadership team, key stakeholders and Council. With strong business acumen and experience in sales, financial and risk management, you will drive the overall success of the centre. As the Venue Manager you will be accountable for the facility’s operations, financial performance and program deliverables. You will deliver and drive exceptional customer service and a culture of innovation. Key Accountabilities
- Coach and develop leaders to deliver on KPIs through engagement, performance planning and individual development plans.
- Lead and drive a high performance community‑minded culture through highly visible and hands‑on leadership and team engagement.
- Maintain a high‑value relationship with local Council.
- Implement a high‑value customer service proposition that addresses the needs of the clients.
- Recruit energetic, diverse and passionate employees as required to complement the team and vision for the Centre.
- Train staff to ensure knowledge and capability are at the required levels to enable staff to carry out their work and achieve objectives.
- Identify staff and develop career progression paths that lead to transparent and effective succession decisions when required.
- Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements. About You You have experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to achieve successful outcomes. You possess strong communication skills, can build rapport and positive relationships, influence positively, and negotiate win‑win outcomes. You lead by example. You are tech‑savvy and have sound knowledge of health and safety legislation. You possess values such as integrity, excellence, courage, openness, respect, leadership and accountability. It is desirable you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in aquatic operations and a good understanding of local government and its processes. Essential Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing a similar facility (preferred leisure or aquatic facility).
- Highly developed communication skills with a flair for positive influencing and negotiating win‑win outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to successful outcomes.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2).
- National Police Check.
- Working with Children Check.
- Legal working rights in Australia. Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field.
