Role Overview We are seeking skilled and experienced Auto Electricians and Diesel Fitters with hands‑on experience in Fleet Management Systems (FMS LIVE) to support mining operations at the Middle Back SMR Mine in Whyalla. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical systems across mining equipment, including drills and haul trucks, to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on mining equipment, including:
- Drill rigs
- Haul trucks (CAT and Komatsu)
- Hitachi excavators
- CAT and Komatsu dozers and graders
- Auxiliary mobile equipment
- Support and maintain FMS LIVE / Fleet Management Systems, including:
- Installation and configuration of onboard hardware
- Troubleshooting connectivity, sensors, and telemetry systems
- Ensuring accurate real‑time data from fleet equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in heavy mining machinery with minimal downtime
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical and fleet management systems
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure seamless FMS integration
- Ensure compliance with Australian mining safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, fault reports, and repairs
- Assist in commissioning new equipment and deploying FMS systems on‑site Key Requirements Qualifications Valid Australian Electrical License Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in mining or heavy equipment maintenance
- Proven experience working with:
- Fleet Management Systems (FMS LIVE)
- Mining equipment such as drills and haul trucks Technical Skills
- Robust expertise in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Experience with FMS platforms such as Wenco, MineStar, Modular (mandatory)
- Knowledge of vehicle electronics, sensors, GPS, and telemetry systems
