- VIC region has the following clubs: : Laverton, Altona, Hoppers Crossing, Kilsyth As an In-Pool Volunteer at Rainbow Club, you’ll assist our qualified swim teachers in delivering fun, safe, and inclusive swimming lessons for children with disability. You’ll play an important role in helping members feel supported, engaged, and confident in the water. This is a hands-on prospect to gain experience, build connections, and make a positive impact in your local community.
- As an In-Pool Volunteer, you’ll support our teachers and members by:
- Demonstrating swim skills that the teacher is explaining to help members better understand
- Recording and timing laps for children working on personal bests in squad classes
- Racing with children to motivate and encourage them
- Playing games and interacting with children to build confidence and socialisation skills
- Helping supervise when a teacher is working with multiple members – playing or doing simple activities with one child while the teacher supports another
- Setting up and packing away pool equipment
- Sorting and cleaning equipment to keep things tidy and safe
- Organising visual aid cards and handing them to teachers during lessons when requested
- Helping the Lead Teacher update the scheduling board when there are teacher absences
- Where appropriate, assist by speaking with parents and carers about upcoming Rainbow Club events such as carnivals or the Malabar Magic swim
- Optional and pre-arranged: Support out-of-water activities such as flyer drops or community outreach to help promote Rainbow ClubShape Benefits of Volunteering:
