Maintenance Supervisor – Afternoon Shift (Williamstown)

Role Summary The Maintenance Supervisor has primary responsibility for implementing the maintenance system for the Laverton site by supporting and supervising the maintenance team in their day‑to‑day tasks. The Supervisor will also provide assistance to key operational employees and supervisors across the site with regard to maintenance issues. The outlook for the role is primarily operational and internal and contributes to the implementation of a maintenance program, interacting strongly with operations and the procurement team on the local deployment of maintenance programs, operational excellence methodologies and a safe working environment. Responsibilities
- Implementing and supervising cyclical maintenance programs and tasks.
- Providing a timely response to reactive maintenance requests and effecting repairs to facilitate continuity of operations.
- Supporting and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Providing supervision of maintenance employees and modelling safety in the workplace.
- Communicating and driving implementation of WHSE initiatives, improvements and corrective actions for the work area.
- Meeting KPIs set for delivery across site and implementing systems and processes to facilitate achievement of these performance targets.
- Monitoring the performance, competency and capability of people in agreed roles.
- Coaching and mentoring employees to build their capability.
- Recording training completions for maintenance operators and ensuring training plans are updated.
- Being a proven people leader, applying sound people‑management practices and problem‑solving techniques to build the capability of employees to meet current and future business needs. Qualifications
- A trade qualification, or a relevant qualification in production manufacturing is highly desirable.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance, production manufacturing or a similar background, preferably in a field related to heavy manufacturing.
- Experience in a frontline leadership role with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience applying knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership with experience implementing safety systems.
- Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to work in a busy environment. Benefits
