Position Details
- Full‑time permanent position
- $46.13 per hour + superannuation
- Deliver infrastructure outcomes that make a difference to the community Infrastructure Engineer Play a key role in delivering civil infrastructure projects that support Wodonga’s growth, connectivity and long‑term sustainability. As Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll support the planning, design, supervision and project management of Council’s civil infrastructure program, including roads, drainage, footpaths, cycleways and related municipal works. This is a excellent opportunity to apply your civil engineering knowledge in a practical local government setting, working closely with contractors, consultants, developers, service authorities and internal teams to deliver infrastructure outcomes for the community. Key Aspects Of The Role
- Deliver civil infrastructure projects – Support the successful delivery of Council’s capital works program, including roads, drainage, footpaths, cycleways, reseals and other municipal infrastructure projects. You’ll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to required standards.
- Prepare designs, documentation and estimates – Develop engineering designs, technical drawings, specifications, tender documentation and cost estimates that support compliant, constructible and cost‑effective project delivery.
- Supervise works and manage contractors – Undertake site inspections, coordinate contractors and consultants, monitor progress and support contract administration to ensure works are completed on time, within budget and to approved specifications.
- Support subdivision and development outcomes – Assess subdivision engineering plans, planning permit applications and related construction works to ensure compliance with Council standards, permit conditions, legislative requirements and asset management expectations.
- Provide technical advice and project support – Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries, maintain accurate project and asset records, contribute to risk assessments and funding submissions, and support continuous improvement across infrastructure delivery. What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Civil Engineering and/or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, detailed design, delivery and project management of civil construction works relevant to local government.
- Ability to use systems such as AutoCAD, Civil Site Design or equivalent, GIS, Word, Excel and other relevant IT systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and organise work to meet project objectives. Benefits
