Job Summary In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, we are seeking skilled Chefs to join our team at Bandiana Military Site. You will prepare fresh, high‑quality meals for Defence personnel across breakfast, lunch, and dinner messes. What’s in it for you?
- Casual opportunities available | $37.91 + $3 allowance per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
- Penalty rates for shifts after 6pm & rotating rosters weekends and public holidays

- Work with highly experienced Sous & Head Chef
- Gain hands‑on experience in a high‑volume kitchen environment and develop new recipes Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for Defence personnel
- Help with catering for events and functions
- Keep the kitchen clean and safe
- Work with a outstanding team and support junior staff
- Follow food safety standards Qualifications
- CertificateIII in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
- HACCP Level2 certification
- 3+ years’ experience in large commercial kitchen environments
- Flexible and adaptive in complex, multi‑stakeholder settings
- Strong planning and organisational abilities
- Professional, enthusiastic, and aligned with Ventia’s values
